About Storage Tank Services

There are a number of reasons that a domestic or commercial property may opt to have oil storage tanks fitted. It may be that the gas mains are too far away to connect the property or that there have been reliability issues. A remote location may mean this simply isn’t a consideration. Or it may just be that this is the prefer method of powering the property. Whatever the reason, STS are here to fit and maintain tanks of all descriptions for clients both domestic and commercial.

Installing a tank

Our service starts with the installation of the tank and we can assist with the decision making process about which tank is best for your property if you haven’t already made that decision. Because we have been working with oil tanks for a number of years and across the Gloucestershire area, we have a wealth of experience that we can direct to your decision and give you the advice you need.

Once you have made your decision, we can install the tank and ensure that it complies with all the relevant legislation that effects them. This includes the secondary containment system that protects the environment in the case of a leak from the tank and is often called a bund. This should hold 110% of the total capacity of the tank to comply with regulations.

Maintaining the tank

Good maintenance is key to getting the maximum longevity from your tank and most manufacturers recommend that you have it checked every twelve months as a minimum. This means that you need someone who understands this equipment to service it and ensure it is working efficiently. STS can offer this service, regardless of whether we fitted the tank in the first place or not.

Should you require to upgrade your tank for any reason, we can also assist with this. Whether replacing a tank due to age or due to an increased capacity requirement, we can carry out the work needed.
